Working predominantly in white earthenware and stoneware, Penny's work is largely inspired by nature.  With a keen eye for shape and form, she incorporates the detail of the natural world into her creations.  Much of her inspiration comes from the view she has from her studio window and from memories of places visited.

After first getting a taste for pottery in the 1980s, Penny gave up the day job in 2005 to pursue her passion for creating with clay.  After moving house and building the purpose built studio in her garden she launched her business Penny Varley Ceramics.  Penny says ' I work in organised chaos and I love having multiple projects on the go at once. The backdrop of Edge Hill  which I can see from my studio window here in

Tysoe has been a major influence on my work'.

Visitors are very welcome just contact me to book.
